In the design of medical facilities, coordination with mechanical equipment designers is always a priority. Structural design must not only include allowances for mechanical and equipment loads, but must also allow required clearance between the ceiling and the floor or roof structure above. This is especially true of operating rooms, where significant amounts of overhead equipment is common.

Special requirements are needed for some types of imaging equipment which require shielding by use of lead plates or large masses of concrete. This equipment is also sensitive to vibration and deflections.  At Engineering Solutions we are sensitive to all of these special requirements.

 Athletic & Fine Arts

Athletic facilities have always presented a welcome challenge with Engineering Solutions.  We have completed dozens of gymnasiums, as well as aquatic facilities. We are experienced in the engineering requirements associated with  auditoriums utilizing pre-engineered rigid frames, long span bar joists, steel joist girders and custom fabricated steel trusses.

Additionally our expertise includes special loadings such as scoreboards, catwalks, air conditioning units, as well as lighting and sound systems. These projects  require a higher level of commutation with other design disciplines.

In the case of auditoriums, our experienced design team often facilitates coronations issues dealing with fly loft design and other stage related issues.

Effectively completing military projects requires special expertise which can only be acquired through years of experience working with government project mangers, reviewers and users. The staff at Engineering Solutions has completed numerous projects at various military facilities including Tinker, Vance, and Shephard Air Force Bases, as well as Fort Sill and Fort Gordon.
